China's first domestically made large cruise ship completed the fin stabilizer mooring test

news-details

On April 7, the first domestically produced large-scale cruise ship built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, successfully completed the dock mooring test of fin stabilizer equipment.

Fin stabilizers to resist hull roll

For large cruise ships, comfort is an important indicator, and anti-roll during voyage is a key element to improve comfort.

In addition to the passive anti-rolling devices such as the heeling system and the keel, the first domestically produced large-scale cruise ship also installed a pair of fin stabilizers in the middle of the hull to actively resist the roll angle of the hull.

High efficiency, halving the debugging cycle

The whole set of fin stabilizer equipment consists of two parts, the inner and outer parts. The main body of the outer fin is 7.25 meters long, and the area of a single fin is 21.6 square meters. Powered by internal hydraulic equipment, the structure is complex and the precision is high.

This is the first time Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has carried out the commissioning of fin stabilizer equipment of this size. The project team reasonably planned the commissioning and installation nodes, finely managed the on-site operation preparations, and successively carried out work such as hydraulic pipeline oiling, equipment power-on inspection, and communication establishment. It took three days from the start of pre-commissioning to the completion of inspection, ensuring the operation of the equipment the debug node.

The fin stabilizer commissioning period is generally 14 days, but Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding completed all the work in only half the time, and was highly recognized by the equipment service provider, ship owner and ship inspection. The shipowner's ship inspection has fully entrusted Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding to complete the inspection of all mooring test items of the fin stabilizer.
